When we launched Legiit in February 2018 we had one simple goal; to put our experience using freelance marketplaces, both as a customer and as a freelancer into our own marketplace that fills the needs that other marketplaces don’t.

We’ve come a long way, and we’ve had our share of setbacks, but we think we have made great strides in that direction and are very proud of the community and platform we have been a part of building.

We give our customers the opportunity to get to know their freelancers in a personal way that makes them know they can trust the person, and the platform they are working with.

Our freelancers enjoy the freedom to build their own business through Legiit, creating social media followings, email lists, and businesses of their own.

We also provide them numerous, free, marketing opportunities through social media, advertising, and various other channels.

And everyone has the opportunity to offer input on where they would like to see Legiit go in the future.

Legiit has evolved as a platform consistently since day #1 and indeed if you were to look at it then and now you would barely recognize it.

And we are just getting started.

We have mapped out a comprehensive 5 year development and marketing strategy full of such amazing stuff that it is taking everything in our power not to spoil some of it here.

In order for Legiit to continue to evolve and to help bring the very best platform to our community we must also make some tough choices from time to time.

Development and marketing cost money, that is just an unfortunate fact of reality.

Additionally as Legiit grows, so to do the technological demands on our systems.

And finally an increase in rates charged by our merchant processing partners (Paypal, Payoneer etc…) have forced us to make the tough decision that will allow us to continue to build, grow, and scale Legiit into the future.

Effective November 4th, 2019 Legiit will raise its platform fee on each sale from 10% to 15%

While we realize this change is going to be unpopular initially, it is necessary for Legiit to continue and grow.

Additionally it is still a lower amount than many of the major comparable sites.

For Example:

Fiverr – 20% to buyer & seller from each sale
Upwork – 20%
SEOClerks – 20%

So we are still competitive and will continue to be for the foreseeable future.

We will also be making some changes to our affiliate program.

The affiliate program was initially designed as a way to reward people for driving sales to Legiit, which helps everyone, buyer, seller, affiliate, and Legiit out.

And some have used it that way, and to those of you that have we thank you.

We will also be making some changes to our affiliate program that will be more fair to our affiliates, sellers, and will help stop affiliate spam.

As I said the future looks bright for Legiit and everyone involved; customer, freelancer, affiliate, and team member.

We are proud of what we have all built together, and we are excited to keep working alongside you to innovate and bring you the best freelance marketplace available online.
