ChatGTP was launched back in November 2022 by OpenAI. Not only was it well received, but also highly criticized. Some of the remarks from users were that ChatGPT is a potential Google killer, but hyperbole aside, the creators mention that the model is hamstrung and thus limited for safety reasons.
The model uses several policies and rules similar to DeepMind Sparrow to ensure that the output is within certain prescribed confines. However, even then, the output has impressed us and many others who have used it.
If you’ve not tried ChatGPT or want to learn what it is all about, this article lays it out for you.
What is Chat GPT?
Many people who have used ChatGPT aren’t sure what it is and thus tend to misjudge it. Therefore it is essential to start from the very beginning.
ChatGPT is defined as A Model Man-Made Reasoning Chatbot Created. It is a huge language model calibrated with support and managed learning methods. In other words, it has been taught and taught to learn by human AI trainers.
While ChatGPT’s responses haven’t been accurate, OpenAI makes no claims of accuracy. In fact, quite the opposite.
As we mentioned above, the one of two methodologies used to train the model were human mentors who worked on its presentation. The other method is to collect comparison data, which is done from users.
In order to prevent hostile results or answers from being shown, a filter layer was created. This means that every inquiry is sifted through this filter, blocking an array of possibly bigoted and misogynist prompts.
The other major limitation is that ChatGPT is unaware of occasions or events that happened after 2021. Furthermore, it must be mentioned that the specificity and accuracy of the information it delivers can’t be relied on.
What Can You Do With It?

ChatGPT is a variant of the GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer) language model developed by OpenAI. It is designed to generate human-like text based on a given prompt or context. ChatGPT can generate responses to user inputs in a conversational context, such as in a chatbot or virtual assistant.
ChatGPT can also generate text in other contexts, such as generating descriptions of images or completing a given text prompt. ChatGPT has the ability to understand and generate a wide range of language and content.
However, it is essential to note that ChatGPT is a machine learning model, and its output is only as good as the data it was trained on. As such, it may not always generate accurate or appropriate responses.
In layman’s terms, what does all this mumbo-jumbo mean?
It Can Write an Article Without Human Feedback
One of the first things writers like us do is to see if ChatGPT is good at writing an article. The initial model I tested wasn't all that good.
You only need to type “write an article on [you name it]”, and ChatGPT will get to work.
In addition, you can also get it to write emails. For instance, asking it to write an outreach email will look something like “write an outreach email asking for a backlink.”
Now granted, the output isn’t exactly great, but with some modification, you can’t tell if it's machine-generated.
Another exciting thing I like to use ChatGPT for when writing a large article or eBook is to ask it to draw up an outline of the topic. For instance, “Write an outline for an ebook on becoming a freelancer.” Within seconds I have a starting point for the eBook.
Though we don’t advise that kids use it to do their homework, ChatGPT can write book reports. For instance, “write a book report for War and Peace”. The limitation is that you will not get more than 200 words of the report. So, you’ll have to ask it to elaborate on points it touches upon by typing “Expand upon point no. 1?”
The Language Model Can Rewrite An Article
Now, there may be times when you’ve written an article, but it may not read the way you want it. You could have also hired a writer on Legiit (plug intended) and received high-quality content. But let’s say you went to another marketplace and ended up with low-quality stuff. Here is how ChatGPT can help you.
You can ask ChatGPT to fix the article. Simply type “fix grammar and style issues with this article followed by the article in “” marks.” ChatGPT does an excellent job of fixing it. This is down to how good its reinforcement learning model is.
If the article is factually correct, but the article requires it be written in higher quality English, ChatGPT can rewrite it for you. Just type “rewrite this article in the style of a blog post, with the article in “” quotes.”
It Can Translate an Article
The other interesting feature of ChatGPT is its ability to translate text. All you need is to type “translate text to [your language of choice] “” text in quotations”.
In our experience, the model responses ranked does an excellent job of translating the text with the best output, even better than Babelfish and Google Translate. Though, it does not do as good a job as a human translator, so the use of this text will be limited without editing.
Answer Questions More Accurately Thanks To Advanced Data Collection Setup
The other great thing about ChatGPT is that you can ask it questions and the answers, depending on what you ask are pretty accurate. However, remember that ChatGPT can make stuff up; for instance, try asking, “why did the chicken cross the road?”
Ask your question as you would to a regular human being. However, we found that questions requiring answers contain facts that often must be corrected.
Solve Programming Errors

Programming errors happen all the time. Even when you ask ChatGPT to maybe “code a Tetris-like game using phyton”, the resulting code may throw an error when compiled. To fix this, all you need is to ask ChatGPT to address the error.
For instance, I asked ChatGPT “fix the [error code] in the code you wrote.” ChatGPT then issued a fix. However, this may probably not work for extensive, complex coding like if you were building the next Linux operating system.
Fix Writing Errors
We all make mistakes when writing. However, as a writer, there are grammar and punctuation issues that I may overlook. Sure, Grammarly helps, but there are problems even Grammarly can’t fix. Thus you can refer to ChatGPT for some help.
Simply type “scan and fix the following text for errors “text in quotes” In a few seconds, ChatGPT will have the revised version ready.
Chat GPT Can Remember Your Conversation
All you need to do is ask it to pull up your conversation history. However, you can also ask it to make changes to, let’s say, what it produced before.
You can also ask ChatGPT to elaborate on a text it produced yesterday. This is unlike most other AI writers that rely on a cache.
How To Use The Chat GPT?
Now that we have you interested in ChatGPT, the next question you probably have is how do you start using it. Interestingly, it is easier than you think and is 100% free. That’s unlike any other AI Chat program that’s as good. However, it may not be free for long, so enjoy it while it lasts.
Signup – You will need to start by visiting chat.openai.com. You then sign in with your Google account or sign up for a fresh one. You will be asked to verify your phone number before using ChatGPT.
Type in your requests – Once you log in successfully, you can start typing in requests. You can start with any of the requests we discussed earlier. However, you are free to experiment.
Correct ChatAI – You may assume that because it is AI, it's more intelligent than you, but that’s not the case. It often gets things wrong, but feel free to correct it. State, “you are wrong about this fact; this is what it is all about.” The bot will thank you for it.
Test and Retest – There are thousands of people putting ChatAI through its paces as we speak. The more, the better because it sharpens the AI, making it better for everyone. That’s one reason the output has improved since it launched in November 2022.
Chat GPT: Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What is ChatGPT used for?
A. ChatGPT by OpenAI is meant to accomplish a natural, human-machine interface. It is like having an automated virtual assistant, except you can’t ask it to email your clients or maybe set up a post for Legiit Monday. But it can help you draft a riveting post and your service description. That said, it is also proving to be an excellent development tool.
Q. Is GPT chat free?
A. Yes, for now, ChatGPT is free and currently in beta. However, OpenAI has alluded to monetizing the bot via a paid subscription or another commercial model. Though how much ChatGPT will cost is anyone’s guess.
Q. Why can’t I log in to ChatGPT?
A. There can be more than one reason for this. However, if your password is correct, then the system is under load. As of late, ChatGPT has been experiencing slowdowns and other issues owing to an increased number of people using the system. The best time to use it is around midnight.
Q. What are the four types of Chatbots?
A. There are several types of chatbots, and the classification can vary depending on the criteria used. The four common types of chatbots are:
Rule-based chatbots: These chatbots use a set of pre-defined rules or decision trees to respond to user inputs. They are relatively simple and can only handle a limited range of interactions.
Self-learning chatbots: They use machine learning algorithms to improve their responses over time. They can learn from user interactions and adapt their responses accordingly.
Contextual chatbots: These chatbots use information about the context of the conversation to provide more relevant and personalized responses. For example, a contextual chatbot might use information about a user's location or past interactions to tailor its responses.
Hybrid chatbots: These chatbots combine the capabilities of multiple chatbots, such as rule-based and self-learning chatbots. They can use a combination of pre-defined rules and machine learning algorithms to provide more flexible and adaptive responses to user inputs.
Final Thoughts
ChatGPT is impressive, but as natural language processing continues to improve, so will chatbots and their ability to interpret human language. This will make them more effective at having meaningful conversations.
Further, improvement in the personalization of these chatbots, like using a user’s preferences, context, and history, will ensure more tailored responses as the bot gains knowledge of the user.
Chatbots will likely become more integrated with other technologies, such as the internet of things (IoT) and virtual assistants, allowing them to provide a broader range of services and functions.
If things continue to move at this pace, AI chatbots will become prevalent across various industries and applications, offering multiple services across a broader user base.
